Molecular detection of Mycoplasma agalactiae and Mycoplasma capricolum

in mastitic and non mastitic milk of goats in Kurdistan ¿ Iraq

Mycoplasma agalactiae and Mycoplasma capricolum are two of four most important etiological agents of mycoplasmas that affect small ruminants, especially goats. Mastitis is one of the main signs that appear on animals that are affected and cause the reduction and even the suppression of milk production. This study aimed to diagnose M. agalactiae and M. capricolum in mastitic and non mastitic milk of goat's in Kurdistan region, a total of 200 samples were collected from 100 goats included in this study from more than one region within the three governorates (Sulaimani, Erbil and Duhok) through the period of January and February (2017). During the collection of samples, the clinical examination of the animals were taken including temperature, pulse, respiration, examination of udder and supra-mammary lymph node.
